Wilkes-Barre City Council bans fireworks | #citycouncil

Thursday, the Wilkes-Barre City council voted to ban fireworks after a new ordinance. This ordinance will prevent fireworks from being set off anywhere in the city. The ordinance makes it illegal to set off fireworks within 150 feet of an occupied structure and violators could face a fine of up to $500.

“We tell everyone to use safely the way they’re meant to be used and when you’re done using them douse them with water, have a hose or a bucket of water nearby”, Brian Shaub, Owner of Keystone Fireworks in Wilkes-Barre said.

The Wilkes-Barre City Council aims to keep the public safe with this new ordinance.
