What will go on the ballot in November? City Council’s Bond 2024 talks continue Tuesday. | #citycouncil

About seven months ahead of early voting, city officials are slated to continue their early start on bond proposals to bring to voters.

During the City Council meeting 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, discussions will focus on how much money may be available for allocation for programs that in the past have benefited capital projects for infrastructure — rebuilding streets among the most popular.

The presentation is anticipated to serve as an early look at “the factors used in determining the City’s general obligation bond capacity and will present a range of bond capacity in consideration for Bond 2024,” according to the agenda item.

It’s among a series of meetings and presentations leading up to the City Council’s selection of projects that would go to the ballot in the Nov. 5 election.

In the coming months, city officials plan to hold community meetings seeking public input prior to the council beginning its sometimes-lengthy process of winnowing down specific projects selected for the programs.

Voters in the recent past have been supportive of the city’s bond proposals, including those for park improvements, public safety and reconstruction of some of its worst streets.
