Watertown mayor on years on eclipse safety prep


Watertown Mayor Sarah Compo Pierce says the city has been preparing for as many as 150,000 visitors for the upcoming total solar eclipse on April 8.

Safety is a big concern. Watertown is warning everyone about traffic, lines, and waits. City officials are advising you to give yourself extra time to get where you need to go.

Watertown’s safety committee has been meeting regularly with fire, police and medical professionals in case of an emergency. It also includes the school district, which are planning this as an educational opportunity.
