Eric F. Walker will take office as legal counsel at Arkansas Tech University on July 5, 2023.
Walker has served as staff attorney for the Little Rock School District since 2016. He was previously assistant dean of career services for the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (2015-16), legal counsel for Windstream Communications (2012-15) and general counsel for Philander Smith College (2005-12).
He began his career as assistant attorney general (2000-05) and deputy prosecuting attorney (1998-2000) for the State of Arkansas.
A native of Little Rock, Walker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Morehouse College and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Indiana University School of Law.
“Mr. Walker possesses the academic preparation and career experience necessary to succeed as legal counsel at Arkansas Tech University,” said Dr. Robin E. Bowen, ATU president. “I look forward to his service to our institution in support of our mission and vision.”
