The Valley Grande City Council approved two Resolutions at its meeting on Feb. 5.

The council approved a pole barn bid awarded to Steward Construction at $85,498. Bids were opened on Jan. 12 and two other contractors, Precision Dirt and the Smitherman Brothers, also made bids.

Jessica Swift won the concession stand bid for$1,600, which the city council unanimously approved. Taylor Sports was the only other business that bid on the project.

The city council also updated the contract for lawn city care maintenance, which includes a termination clause.

In other business, Mayor Wayne Labbe said he had no update on repairing the manhole at the sewer, but he was still working on the quotes.

The entire council was present including council members Sara Day, Kay Davidson, Robbie Rose, Jane Harris, Bruce Hughes and clerk/treasurer Kim Harris.

The next Valley Grande council meeting will be at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The regularly scheduled meeting for Monday was moved because of the President’s Day holiday.
