St. Louis mayor proposes using ARPA funds to improve street safety


ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – St. Louis City Mayor Tishaura Jones proposes using millions from the American Rescue Plan to improve street safety.

The proposal calls for at least $40 million of ARPA funds and would be used for traffic calming measures in high crash areas while working toward a city-wide mobility and transportation plan. The mayor’s office says areas of focus would include improvements to major streets like Jefferson, Grand, Union, Goodfellow and Kingshighway.
