SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) – The Sparks City Council is meeting Monday to discuss a settlement with a Sparks police officer.
The officer is seeking $1 million in damages after he was suspended for comments made on his Twitter account.
The suit was filed by George Forbush, who says the city violated his constitutional right to freedom of speech. Forbush is now retired.
The city says those comments were threats to Black Lives Matter activists and may be a violation of police policy.
That includes a post where he said he built special pistols for “BLM, Antifa, or active shooters who cross my path.”
