Shrinking City Council would be bad for all of Baltimore. | #citycouncil

I am writing to say that I do not support the ballot question to reduce the Baltimore City Council from 14 elected members to 8 members (“Baltimore ballot question financed by Sinclair Broadcast Group chair slashing City Council size garners 25K+ signatures,” Jan. 18).

Baltimore is a city of many different neighborhoods, all of which have very different needs. Each of these neighborhoods deserves to be represented in our local government.

My neighborhood is represented by Councilmember Ryan Dorsey who has been very responsive to our needs and requests. If he is asked to represent almost twice as many people in Baltimore, there is no way he will be able to assist everyone.

This suggested change to the City Council will be bad for all of us in Baltimore.
