The Santa Maria City Council will meet in Council Chambers on Tuesday to hear items including an update on the Santa Maria Regional Transit system and the consideration of appointments to multiple community oversight boards.
Those boards include the Measure U Citizens Oversight Committee and the Recreation and Parks Commission.
The Council will also hear a presentation from city staff and the vice-chair of the Measure U Citizens’ Oversight Committee on the Measure U Annual Report.
The month of April will be recognized as “National Autism Awareness Month”, and May 2 as “National Day of Prayer” in the City of Santa Maria. The week of May 5-11 will be designated “Public Service Recognition Week”.
The featured businesses of the quarter, April through June, are Arrow Plumbing Drain & Repair Service and Trojan Petroleum, Inc. which will be recognized by the city for their long-standing impact on the community.

As part of the consent calendar, councilmembers will consider adopting projects selected to receive continual funding from the Federal Transit Administration to support transit capital and operations costs within the Santa Maria Urbanized Area for federal fiscal year 2024-27.
Also on the consent calendar:
- The potential authorization of the transit program’s recommended grant application in the amount of $213,970 to purchase two off-grid solar array electric vehicle chargers to support the transit program’s fleet electrification efforts.
- The disposal of several older transit vehicles, bought with federal funding assistance, by declaring them surplus and sending them off to auction.
