The Salida City Council (SCC) is holding both its work session and its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 16, starting at 5:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Touber Building, 448 E. First Street.
Work Session
The work session will cover three topics: candidate interviews for the Tree Board; a “wayfaring discussion,” which turns out to be about proposed new city directional signage; and a return to discussion of the F Street Plaza, this time with specific suggestions and cost estimates for possible improvements.
Regular Session features Paid Parking and STR rates
The regular session agenda begins at 6:00 p.m. and includes a public hearing and second reading on Ordinance 2024-01 (updated building and energy codes).
Two ordinances are of major public interest: a first reading for Ordinance 2024-02, entering into an agreement with Interstate Parking Management to implement a downtown parking program.
It will be followed by Ordinance 2024-03, which if finalized on Feb. 6, would lower the Short-Term Rental Room Tax from $15 per night to $10 per night.
Also on the agenda are Resolutions 2023-10, approving a development improvement agreement for 1030 Illinois Street and Resolution 2024-11, supporting applications for state grant funds for affordable housing in accordance with Proposition 123.
Resolution 2024-12, finalizes appointing the members of the Tree Board and other business includes appointments to the Chaffee County Community Fund Grant Review Committee; and the appointment of Sara Law as Interim City Clerk.
