Rock Island to hold its normally scheduled city council meeting on Monday | #citycouncil

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. {KWQC} — Rock Island will hold its regularly scheduled city council meeting on Monday.

On the agenda for that meeting, council members will swear in newly nominated 3rd Ward Alderman Kevin Maynard.

There will also be a resolution declaring an opposition to Governor Pritzker’s possible elimination of the 1% sales tax on grocery items.

City officials say this will result in an estimated $1 million loss in revenue. Monday’s city council meeting begins at 6:45pm.
