James Phillip Womack, 35, son of U.S. Rep. Steve Womack of Arkansas, was arrested in Tontitown overnight, according to jail records.Womack faces a dozen charges, including reckless driving, going the wrong way on a one-way street, possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief and fleeing.He was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 25, 2023. His bond amount was listed as pending.Northwest Arkansas law enforcement has arrested Womack in the past. He was arrested in 2010 in an incident involving 6 grams of methamphetamine. He pleaded guilty and attended a prison boot camp program instead of serving a 10-year sentence.He was arrested other times, including arrests on parole violations in April and November 2012. He was booked into jail on drug charges in September 2018 and again in July 2022.Rep. Steve Womack is currently serving his seventh term in Congress.
