Pro-Palestine demonstrators interrupted California Democrats’ convention on Saturday in Sacramento to call for a ceasefire in Gaza. The interruption happened while Rep. Katie Porter was speaking at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in Sacramento. Asked to comment on the Democratic convention, CAGOP Chairwoman Jessica Millan Patterson released this statement, “California Democrats are gathering this weekend to celebrate their regressive policies that have driven our state to the top of all the wrong lists and led longtime residents to move away in droves.” The statement also made a reference to three state lawmakers who were arrested earlier this year on suspicion of driving under the influence, saying, “The only victory Californians can hope for out of their convention is if Democrats make it through with no new DUIs.” This story is developing.
