PORTALES, N.M. (KRQE) – Portales Mayor Ron Jackson has announced he will be resigning. Jackson announced he will resign at the end of the year at the conclusion of a city council meeting on Tuesday. He said the main reason is for his health.
Jackson was elected to the position in 2018 and won reelection in 2022. A new mayor will be appointed until the next election.
