MONTGOMERY, Ala. – With two weeks left until the May 24 primary elections, a recent Alabama Daily News/ Gray Television poll shows large chunks of voters are still undecided on who they’ll pick for secretary of state, supreme court and state auditor.
Asked who’d they vote for if the election were today, Jim Zeigler led the polls for secretary of state with 19.7% of likely GOP voters, followed by Wes Allen with 14.3%. Other Republican nominees Ed Packard and Christian Horn both had less than 4% of votes. Nearly 59% of voters are still unsure who they’ll support.

In the Supreme Court Place 5 race, Greg Cook has the lead he had in a March ADN/Gray poll. Cook now holds a 15.1% advantage over Deborah Jones, with 11.9% of voters saying they will definitely vote for him and 17.5% saying they probably will. But 56.3% of voters remain undecided.

The poll in the auditor race held the highest percentage – 60.1% – of uncertain voters. Andrew Sorell had the most support, 16.8%, compared to Stan Cooke, 11.3%, and Rusty Glover, 11.1%.

The poll was conducted by Cygnal on behalf of Alabama Daily News and Gray Television. It surveyed 600 likely republican primary voters May 6-7 and has a margin for error of +/- 3.99%.
