Omaha mayor announces pickleball courts to open in 2025


A major entertainment tenant will open at the new Tranquility Commons.On Thursday afternoon, Mayor Jean Stothert announced the Kansas City chain, Chicken N’ Pickle will be coming to Omaha. Chicken N’ Pickle will be just down the road from Tranquility Park, located at 122nd Street and West Maple Road. The space will feature six indoor and two outdoor pickleball courts. “Pickleball is a game for everybody. And what we’ve noticed in the last year is that there’s a lot of kids that are starting to play pickleball. And so, I think this is going to be a great location for the city because we are surrounded by so many youth sports complexes, specifically the tranquility sports complex right down the street,” said Chicken N’ Pickle’s Matt Besler.The entertainment complex will also have a restaurant, sports bar, and different yard games.”Chicken N Pickle is the ideal complement to our youth multi-sports complex and tournament facility at Tranquility Park and the neighboring Tranquility Commons development,” said Mayor Jean Stothert. “It will enhance Tranquility as a destination for sports entertainment and recreation.”Chicken N’ Pickle plans to open in early 2025.
