Northwest Arkansas Naturals to host Kansas City Royals for exhibition

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Northwest Arkansas Naturals will host the Kansas City Royals for an exhibition game in March, according to a news release.

The exhibition will be on Monday, March 25 at 6:05 p.m. at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale. This will be the first time the Royals have played at Arvest Ballpark and will be played before each team’s 2024 seasons begin.

“We are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting the Kansas City Royals at Arvest Ballpark in 2024,” said Naturals Vice President & General Manager Justin Cole. “The Royals have been tremendous partners over the years, and we could not be more excited to welcome our Major League affiliate to Springdale in just over two months.”

The Naturals have been a minor league affiliate of the Royals since moving to Northwest Arkansas from Wichita in 2008, according to the release.

Over 100 former Naturals have gone on to play for the Royals including Salvador Perez and Bobby Witt Jr.

Naturals general manager Justin Cole says this summer’s exhibition game will be an exciting return home.

“It’s cool to see not only their career progression but now they get to come back in a Royals uniform and play here at Arvest Ballpark,” Cole said.

Tickets for the exhibition game at Arvest Ballpark will then go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 22.
