Councilmember Chris Ledesma will be stepping down after serving 12 years in the District 4 role. Verna Sulpizio Hull will replace him. She beat Alex Hirsch by 404 votes after the final update came down from Yolo County Election officials on Thursday. Dawnté Early also won the District 3 race against Leanne Linares, according to election results. She won by 923 votes. Martha Guerrero was re-elected as mayor without opposition on the ballot. They join Mayor Pro-Tem Quirina Orozco and Norma Alcala on city council.”We may differ in how we see the path forward, but we all share the same values and are focused on healthy, safe neighborhoods, a thriving local economy and preserving the unique beauty and history that has inspired so many to call West Sacramento home,” Guerrero said. “We are a collective of mothers, sisters, aunties, and grandmothers ready to serve the community!”The swearing-in ceremony will be during a special city council meeting on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m. City council meetings are held at city hall. The votes were certified Dec. 1.
