Here are some of the top highlights from the City Council meeting held on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

City Council began the meeting by passing a proclamation in recognition of Black History Month. The proclamation reinforced that Hutto is strengthened and enriched by our diverse citizens, and that the City rejects any discrimination through its values, policies, and practices.

All hands on deck – City Council approved emergency repairs to County Road 137. Public Works crews will begin removing the existing asphalt and road base on Monday, February 5. A full resurfacing with new asphalt will immediately follow. The City of Hutto is coordinating with Hutto ISD to ensure drop-off and pick-up are minimally impacted at the adjacent schools.

“Survey Says” – During the workshop, City Council was presented with the results from our biennial City Services and Culture survey. Overall, residents rate the quality of life in Hutto high. Respondents’ top priorities are improving the flow of traffic, as well as street maintenance, water systems, parks, trails, and recreation facilities. The Police Department and Public Library continue to leaders in customer service, receiving high rankings from respondents.
