NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Metro City Council passed a bill on second reading that would restrict construction noise in the city.
The bill would limit construction sites to working from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. except during June, July, and August when the time would be from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. In the Gulch area, outdoor construction will not be allowed from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. year-round.
The bill, which has to be approved on third reading to become law, was introduced after residents in The Gulch complained of construction companies working late at night and early in the morning.
