Mesa Independent hosts City Council candidate forum | #citycouncil


Join the Mesa Independent for a candidate forum featuring the three District 4 and two District 6 residents vying for two seats on Mesa City Council.

Beginning at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, the Mesa Independent is hosting a meet-and-greet with the candidates for competitive races for council and a forum 3-5 p.m. at the OneOhOne Gallery, 101 W Main St. in downtown Mesa. The business is on the southwest corner of Main and MacDonald.

Meet District 4 candidates Jenn Duff, Trista Guzman Glover and Nathaniel Ross; and District 6 candidates Scott Somers and Darla Trendler.

The forum will be moderated by Mesa Independent News Editor Richard H. Dyer.

The Aug. 2 primary election features three candidates in District 4, one in District 5 and two in District 6 who are seeking three open seats on Mesa City Council. To be elected at the Primary Election, a candidate must receive a majority of all of the legal votes cast for that candidate’s race. After the primary election, any remaining seats will compete in the Tuesday, Nov. 8 general election.

Residents who are registered voters in the city of Mesa by July 5 are eligible to vote in the Aug. 2 primary election.
