Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast set for Sept. 7 | Community


In an effort to join together for a time of prayer and unity, Stephens County leaders will host the annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 7 at the Simmons Center.

A buffet breakfast will begin at 7 a.m., followed with a time of prayer and an inspirational speaker at 7:30 a.m.

Duncan Mayor Robert Armstrong will lead the breakfast, which is patterned after the National Day of Prayer Breakfast hosted annually in Washington D.C.

Special guests joining the event will include special music by Josue and Jacqueline Chavez and special guest, Pastor James McDowell.

According to the Duncan Chamber of Commerce, the breakfast is “designed as a time of prayer for our city, state and national leaders, as well as a time of personal reflection to God and our Country.”

Sponsorships for the event are still available. It costs $500 for a Star Sponsor table of eight, $300 for a full-table of eight, $175 for a half-table of four and individual tickets are $20 each.
