WELLSVILLE — The Christmas tree for the Village of Wellsville, which stands in front of the village gazebo on Main Street, has been vandalized.

Mayor Bob Boley is offering a $250 reward to anyone who can provide the village with information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) who damaged the tree.

According to Boley, vandals ripped lights and ornaments off the tree and broke ornaments on the ground. Many of the tree’s ornaments had been brought from home or made by children in the village who decorated the tree.

Boley said the tree is pulled in the direction of the gazebo as if the vandals pulled the lights from the top where the star was.
