SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux joined KSLA on Wednesday, March 13 to discuss issues facing the city.

CVS SHOOTING ON HEARNE

Four people were shot while socializing in the parking lot of a closed CVS on Sunday, March 10. One of the victims later died from his injuries.

Arceneaux says time of day and investigation status are some reasons why he’s not always present at crime scenes.

“There is a real reason why I typically don’t go to crime scenes, because I’m in the way.”

He says he reaches out to family members impacted by fatal shootings after he learns who they are.

“I am very concerned about every single homicide that occurs. Every one of them is a tragedy and every one of them is a loss to some family members.
