Mayor Adams visits NYC Burger King resident claims is ‘open air drug bazaar’

Mayor Adams broke bread with a crew of loiterers and alleged drug dealers who have been using a Burger King blocks from City Hall as their headquarters, a witness to the unusual Whopper summit told The Post.

Hizzoner even apparently offered them jobs — and was offered ganja himself, the witness said.

The day after The Post exposed the rowdy miscreants who prompted a fed-up resident to file a $15 million lawsuit against the fast food joint, Adams rolled up to 106 Fulton St. in a black suburban last Sunday at about 2 p.m. He walked inside the Burger King, then emerged and invited the group of alleged dealers inside, the witness said.

“They sat there for a solid hour,” the witness said.

Nearly half a dozen officers from the nearby First Precinct were also on hand, preventing passersby from taking pictures, the witness claimed.

But a surreptitiously-taken snap provided to The Post shows Adams inside the Burger King. His assistant recorded the meeting with a cell phone, the witness said.

After the powwow, Adams and the loiterers walked outside, where Hizzoner could then be heard telling one of his assistants to find the group “something within the service that can help them,” the witness said. It’s unclear what the mayor meant.

One of the crew then offered the mayor some of his wares, as a police captain stood next to him.

“No weed for you, sir?” the witness heard.

“Eh, pass,” Adams replied, according to the witness.

The crew was apparently thrilled by the mayor’s unexpected visit.

“Someone walked by and heard them say, ‘Our stock just went up,’” a second neighbor told The Post.

Locals were not as impressed.

“It’s ridiculous. We’re complaining about the craziness out there, and [Adams] went and hung out with them for an hour. Crazy,” the second resident raged.

A City Hall spokesperson noted overall crime in the First Precinct, which includes the Burger King, was down 8.2% from a year ago, before declaring, “The behavior described in the complaints at the Burger King on Fulton Street will not be tolerated.”

The spokesperson ignored questions about the alleged dealers Adams met with, if he offered them jobs, and what was said — or if he intends to meet with concerned residents.

“Mayor Adams personally stopped by this past weekend to see the situation on the ground and hear from employees, patrons, and locals. The 1st Precinct has been and will continue to be responsive to community complaints,” the spokesperson said.

For months, the group of more than half a dozen people have set up shop in and around the BK, sometimes harassing passersby as they knock back booze, peddle pot and loosies, and make life miserable for those who own the multi-million apartments on the block, residents said.

The Burger King has allowed the clan to conduct an “open-air drug bazaar,” turning life on Fulton Street into a “nightmare,” according to the Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit filed earlier this month.

The NYPD has made more than 600 patrols and community visits to the block since 2023, with two arrests. There have been 143 calls to 911 regarding the Burger King’s address since Jan. 1, 2023 — though police wouldn’t provide further details.

“The police have been great but they can only do so much,” the resident said.
