Marshall City Council to consider drainage master plan at regular meeting | News | #citycouncil


Members of Marshall City Council will consider an update on the city’s planned drainage master plan this week during Thursday’s meeting.

Public Works Director Eric Powell will present on the item to councilmembers, with no action items planned for council to vote on.

Powell will also present to councilmembers on a general engineering and architectural services RFQ (request for quote) with no action for council to vote on.

During the meeting, councilmembers will also consider an ordinance presented by Powell which would vacate two unnamed ROWs (right of ways) off of Palato Drive in Marshall. The ROWs would be city-owned property, including everything from streets to sidewalks up until the property line.

Additionally, Powell will request approval of a resolution from city council this week for the submittal of an abridged application for Flood Infrastructure Funding through Texas Water Development Board for the Drainage Master Plan.

The city finance department will also present to council during the regular meeting, with a request for approval of a resolution to apply for participation in the Local Government Investment Cooperative. Finance will also request approval for an application for Marshall to participate in the Texas Short Asset Reserve Program during the meeting.

Marshall’s regular city council meeting is planned for Thursday at Marshall City Hall at 6 p.m. located at 401 S Alamo St. Community members can address council during the regular citizens comments portion of the meeting, and must request a time prior to the meetings start.
