PORTLAND (WGME)— Monday night Portland officially welcomed its new mayor, Mark Dion, and two new city council members.
Mark Dion was inaugurated as Portland mayor. Two new city councilors were also inaugurated.
The inaugural meeting commenced right after saying goodbyes to former mayor Kate Snyder. She left urging the city council to take big issues head-on while continuing to work on their daily tasks.
New mayor Mark Dion asked his colleagues for speed and care on major issues the city of Portland faces, including safety, housing and emergency shelter.
