Lynchburg City Council to hold special meetings to appoint school board members | #citycouncil


The Lynchburg City Council is moving forward with the process of appointing new school board members for the city.

On June 20 and 21 City Council will be holding meetings to interview candidates for the seats.

According to the City of Lynchburg’s website, there are three total vacancies on the school board. The terms for the current members expire at the end of June; districts 1, 2 and 3 each have a vacancy.

The upcoming special meetings are set for 1 p.m. on both days and will take place in the Council chamber of City Hall. The meetings are all open to the public.

This is the schedule of interviews:

June 20

  • 1 p.m. – Dr. Robert Brennan – District 1
  • 1:30 p.m. – Michael Brosmer – District 1
  • 2 p.m. – Jack Schewel – District 1
  • 2:30 p.m. – Deborah Trefzger – District 1
  • 3 p.m. – Rebekah Turner – District 1
  • 3:30 p.m. – Break
  • 4 p.m. – Michael Barron – District 2
  • 4:30 p.m. – Greg Berry – District 2
  • 5 p.m. – Letitia Lowery – District 2
  • 5:30 p.m. -Christian DePaul – District 1

June 21

  • 1 p.m. – Joan Pense – District 2
  • 1:30 p.m. – Dr. Kim Sinha – District 2
  • 2 p.m. – Beth White – District 2
  • 2:30 p.m. – Break
  • 3 p.m. – Tecora Davis – District 3
  • 3:30 p.m. – Cheryl Giggetts – District 3
  • 4 p.m. – Andrew Glover – District 3
  • 4:30 p.m. – Farid Jalil – District 3
  • 5 p.m. – Dr. David Ream – District 3
