Houston County and other Alabama counties voted in Tuesday’s statewide primary election. 

In Houston County, 13,896 voters casted a ballot out of the 80,694 residents who were registered to vote, leading to a 17.22% voter turnout. There were 28 polling places in the county.

Voters determined which candidates compete in the general election. The Democratic ballot in Houston County included voting for the presidential candidate, delegates to the 2024 Democratic National Convention, 1st congressional district and a proposed statewide amendment.

The Republican ballot in Houston County includes voting for the presidential candidate, Delegates to the 2024 U.S. representative 1st congressional district, chief justice of the Supreme Court, Court of Civil Appeals judge, Court of criminal appeals judge,  president for the Public Service Commission and a proposed statewide amendment.
