Lincoln City Council votes on Michon Morrow as chief of LPD | #citycouncil

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln City Council is voting on Michon Morrow to be the permanent police chief on Monday.

On Feb. 27, Mayor Leirion Gaylor Barid announced her nomination of Morrow, who has been a member of the Lincoln Police Department since 1995.

Morrow was appointed acting chief of police in July after Teresa Ewins abruptly resigned from the agency.

City Councilman Tom Duden, a former police officer, said he’s looking forward to having Morrow as the permanent chief.

“She’s already made some great changes,” Duden said. “I’ve heard she’s been a good ear for the veterans and the officers that are there now.”
