Lillian Brooke to be new mayor of Andover | News

ANDOVER — Lillian Brooke, a three-year resident of the village, hopes to use her life experience to improve the lives of Andover residents as the new mayor in January.

Brooke is a global advocate for those suffering homelessness or addictions. “I also have worked very closely with well-established addiction recover units as well as several homeless shelters up and down the East Coast,” she said.

Brooke said she decide to run for mayor to make a difference in her community.

“It is my belief that in order to help my local community flourish, I should do my part by stepping up in a capacity that I hope will have a positive impact.”

She said she hopes to see upgrades in local businesses, maintenance for infrastructure, annexation, and water treatment upgrades.

“I will be an assertive advocate for the building up of a stronger and well-equipped police department. All of our first responders deserve to be fully staffed and provided the finest up-to-date equipment to assist in serving our community more successfully,” Brooke said.

She said local businesses and citizens are a critical component to the village’s future. “I have great intention on working diligently with our village council and other local agencies to accomplish these goals. I truly have the best interest of our community in mind. I will do everything I can to stand behind that,” she said.

Brooke ran unopposed for mayor. Council will also select two new council members as two seats were left open with no candidates running in November.
