A group of Dolton trustees is aiming to hire former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot—who is also an ex-federal prosecutor—to investigate Mayor Tiffany Henyard, media outlets reported.

The group wants Lightfoot to investigate Henyard and village representatives in connection with a May 2023 trip to Las Vegas and what took place afterward.

According to NBC Chicago, there were complaints alleging retaliation and sexual assault stemming from the excursion. The complaints—already under investigation by the Illinois Department of Human Rights—state that a former female employee claimed retaliation, sexual harassment and discrimination after she raised concerns about an apparent non-consensual sexual encounter between her and an unnamed village trustee during an economic development trip to Las Vegas.

Also, Dolton police officer Byron Miles said in a separate complaint filed with the Department of Human Rights that he also faced retaliatory actions for coming forward with what he witnessed. Miles—part of Henyard’s security detail who also went on that trip to Vegas—told her a trustee on the trip told him that the trustee had unprotected sex with the female complainant. Miles reportedly recorded some of the conversation with the trustee on his iPhone.
