Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba will lay it all out Thursday evening during his 2023 State of the City address.The mayor will address highlights and accomplishments of the past year, and he’ll outline goals for the coming year during the address, which will be held at The Rookery, an events center on East Capitol Street.“You know that we have made it our tradition to move the State of the City to different locations, not only to showcase our city, but as a statement of the various things that our city has to offer,” Lumumba said earlier this week.Melissa Faith Payne, communications director for the city, said the address will be a little different this year. Each city department head will have the opportunity to highlight his or her department.The State of the City is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and will be livestreamed on MeTV and on WAPT.com. It will also be available later on VeryLocal.
