Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba voiced his concerns about transparency issues between the city of Jackson and the third-party administration overseeing Jackson’s water system during a water status hearing Friday.The hearing was held before Judge Henry Wingate.During the hearing, Lumumba addressed the concerns he claims he has received from Jackson residents as well as several organizations within the city.”There are things I’ve heard in this hearing that were represented by the third-party administrator that were a complete departure from what we’ve been told in other meetings,” Lumumba said.Third-party manager, Ted Henefin, was also present at the hearing. Henefin told Wingate he is aware of the concerns from the city and residents. Henefin said there is a number for residents to call if they have concerns. The number for the JXN Water Call Center is 601-500-5200.
