Greenwood mayor visits Endress+Hauser’s Swiss headquarters

Greenwood’s mayor is back stateside after visiting the European headquarters of a local company.

On Sept. 18, Mayor Mark Myers met with Endress+Hauser CEO Matthias Altendorf and a group of apprentices at the operating process and laboratory instrumentation and automation supplier’s global headquarters in Reinach, Switzerland. The visit was part of an Indy Chamber leadership exchange program, and Myers returned on Thursday, he said.

“It’s been a great trip,” Myers said.

During the visit, Myers also toured Endress+Hauser’s flow production center and attended an apprenticeship workshop. He also talked with Endress+Hauser officials about their apprenticeship program, which allows students a chance to see what working with the company is like and to know what direction they want to go for their careers.

Greenwood is the site of Endress+Hauser’s American headquarters. City officials said they were thankful for Endress+Hauser’s “deep commitment” to Greenwood and the company’s continued focus on operational excellence and advanced automation.

In January, the company announced plans for a $33.1 million expansion to construct the Endress + Hauser Innovation Center and George E. Booth Co. Headquarters. As part of the expansion, Indianapolis-based George E. Booth Co. will relocate from Indianapolis to Greenwood to share the facility with E+H, officials previously said. George E. Booth Co. is the exclusive sales representative for E+H in Indiana, along with parts of Ohio, Illinois and Kentucky.
