GOP attorney’s general blast Biden admin over new rule to ban Christians from becoming foster care parents over gender views | #republicans | #Alabama | #GOP

The Biden administration proposed a new rule that would essentially ban Christians from becoming foster care parents over their views on sexuality and gender identity.

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall joined The National Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat to discuss the issue.

“Clearly, this administration is trying to develop a two-tiered system of foster care selection. One for those who embrace the radical gender ideology of this administration that supposedly within, provide for safe homes for foster kids versus an unsafe designation for those who have sincerely held religious beliefs, who do not adopt this administration’s policies,” he said. “Not only is it unconstitutional, but it’s just clearly wrong.”

19 Republican attorney’s general are pushing back saying the policy violates the Constitution, discriminating against Christian foster parents which do represent a large portion of foster families in our country.

A Barna Research study show’s that Christians are three times more likely to consider fostering a child. Those recruited through a church, foster children nearly three years longer than the average foster parents.

“Specifically, what is that policy? That policy says in defining what’s a safe environment that if you’re a foster parent, and have a child that is LGBTQ that you would have to be able to use their preferred pronouns, to allow them to dress in their preferred dress,” Marshall said. “But maybe more importantly, and in fact scary, is the fact that you would have to provide so-called gender affirming care for kids, which many states like Alabama have found not only are illegal but also are part of the radical experiments on children that have been rejected in Europe and clearly don’t need to be going on with our children.”
