Former secretary for Lorain mayor indicted on theft, election falsification


Lorain Mayor Jack Bradley’s former secretary was indicted by a Lorain County grand jury earlier this month on theft and election falsification charges.

Tina Pauley was indicted under her maiden name of Smith on Oct. 5 on a charge of grand theft, a first-degree felony, and election falsification, a fifth-degree felony, according to Lorain County Common Pleas Court records.

Smith was arrested on Oct. 11 and bonded out of jail after posting a $5,000 personal recognizance bond

On Oct. 19, Smith pleaded not guilty to the charges during a hearing in Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Melissa Kobasher’s court room, records show.

Smith has retained attorney Sharlene Ramsey, records show.

Kobasher set a pretrial hearing for Oct. 27.

Smith couldn’t be reached for comment, nor could Bradley.

Officials haven’t yet publicized the investigation results conducted by the Lorain Police Department after Smith was terminated from her position.
