Former Atlanta Mayor serve as Savannah State commencement speaker


ABOVE VIDEO: Savannah State University Spring 2022 Commencement Former Atlanta Mayor Kesha Lance Bottoms will serve as speaker for Savannah State University’s 203rd Commencement. According to the university, Approximately 230 students will attend to receive master’s, bachelor’s, and associate degrees.This will be the first commencement ceremony for Interim President Cynthia Robinson Alexander.Commencement is Friday at 9 am. at Savannah State University’s T. A. Wright Stadium.Savannah State University is the first public historically black college or university in the state of Georgia and the first institution of higher learning in the city of Savannah. The school was established in 1890 as a result of the Second Morrill Land Grant Act, which mandated that southern and border states develop land-grant colleges for black citizens.For more information, click here.
