Erie City Council holds meeting to inform residents about Greengarden Bikeway Project | #citycouncil

The city of Erie hosted a meeting Tuesday evening for those wanting to learn more about the Greengarden Bikeway Project.

Both residents of Greengarden Boulevard, as well as project enthusiasts, took to city hall to hear from the project managers regarding bike lanes that are to be put in on the road.

Residents said they don’t want to lose their on-street parking, but the city will look to make exceptions.

“City council has been considering a no parking ordinance and through the discussions, they have come up with a list of exclusions to be talked about tonight. That’s through listening to the residents along Greengarden and taking that feedback and working it into the ordinance,” said Dan Fritz, a consultant with Whitman Requardt Associates (WRA).

Some examples of exclusions include delivery trucks, landscaping, garbage pickup, and social events that may occur along the corridor.
