Delta’s A321neos: a summary
Delta’s first revenue-generating A321neo flight was on May 20th between Boston and San Francisco. Coincidentally, joint venture partner Virgin Atlantic’s first A330neo flight will be to Boston later this year.
Delta currently has four A321neos, registered N501DA, N502DX, N503DZ, and N504DZ. The most recent to arrive was N504DZ, which Flightradar24 shows flew from Hamburg Finkenwerder to Minneapolis, via Bangor, on July 22nd. When writing, it hasn’t entered service. Delta expects to welcome 26 aircraft by the end of the year, so many more routes will see service from the new aircraft.
Delta’s A321neos have 194 seats. There are 20 first-class recliners (part of a brand-new first product, with more focus on privacy), 42 Comfort+ extra-legroom seats, and 132 in regular economy.
Befitting generally longer sectors, a third of the A321neo’s seats are premium. Cabins include mood lighting and more overhead storage space.
