The ordinance will allow the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission to spend up to $975,000. That funding will be spent on items including transportation and police overtime. Last year, RideKC estimated that over 70,000 Chiefs fans used their shuttle buses to attend the parade.About 130 transit buses and 300 school buses were used for the parade. The Kansas City Police Department also said the parade cost $200,000 in overtime. It’s an increase of $200,000 in the budget. Should the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, the parade would be held on February 14.
