City Council to hold subway safety hearing Monday | #citycouncil

The City Council’s Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Public Safety Committee will hold a hearing Monday morning with MTA leaders and the NYPD to discuss plans on keeping the subway system safe for New Yorkers.

Council Majority Whip Selvena Brooks-Powers, chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, joined NY1’s Dean Meminger Sunday evening to discuss what’s expected at the hearing.

“We’re looking to hear from both agencies in terms of what steps they’ve been taking over the course of the last several months to address the safety concerns that we hear quite often from commuters,” she said.
