The Fayetteville City Council will meet for a work session at 5 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 433 Hay St. Here’s a look at what’s on the agenda:

  • Gun safety ordinance: The council will discuss a proposed ordinance that would require businesses that sell firearms to place a warning sign outside their doors. The sign would caution visitors of the increased risk of death associated with the possession of firearms.
  • Council committee updates: The council will hear updates from four of its committees, including the Policies Review Committee, the Homeless and Mental Health Committee, the Corridor Revitalization Committee and the Stormwater Committee.
  • Traffic calming measures: There will be a presentation on several proposed recommendations to calm traffic in the city, based on common complaints by residents. The proposed measures include things like speed humps, raised crosswalks, traffic circles, median islands, on-street parking, radar feedback signs and roundabouts.
  • Airport strategic marketing plan: The council will hear a report on the Fayetteville Regional Airport’s marketing strategy for 2024.

The council meeting will be aired on Spectrum Cable Channel 7 and live-streamed at faytv.net.
