City council members to discuss Sunbury Police Department tonight | #citycouncil


Apr. 22—SUNBURY — The Sunbury Police Department will be the main topic of conversation tonight during the regular monthly City Council meeting.

Council members and Mayor Josh Brosious will vote on accepting the resignation of the police department office manager Marcus Bethel and on advertising the position to be filled.

No reason is listed as to why Bethel is leaving the department.

The board will also vote to accept the resignation of the only female officer in the department, Dara Kieski as a full-time officer.

The board will also vote on hiring Kieski as a part-time officer.

Brosious will also be discussing police grants, and a police department strategic plan, according to the agenda.

Council will also discuss and update the public nuisance list and property manager regulations, guidelines and rules.

Council meets at 6:15 p.m. inside City Hall, on Market Street.
