The Washington City Council approved appointments of city officials to the Franklin County Transportation Committee, as well as appointments and reappointments of police officers at its meeting Monday.
City Engineer Charles Stankovic was appointed as attendee, and City Administrator Darren Lamb as alternate attendee, to the Franklin County Transportation Committee.
Zachary Chadwick and Shayne Durbin were appointed as reserve police officers.
Chadwick began working as an officer with the Washington Police Department last December. He recently resigned to take a full-time job outside of law enforcement but has performed admirably and requested to continue to serve as a reserve officer, according to Police Chief Jim Armstrong.
Durbin applied for a job with the WPD in April while he was still attending the police academy, which he has since completed, Armstrong said.
Three other WPD employees, Officer Gregory Garrett, Officer Chase Wurth and Sgt. Michael Grissom, were reappointed to continue to serve with the WPD for another year.
All council members present for the Nov. 6 meeting voted to approve the appointments and reappointments. Councilmen Al Behr and Mike Coulter were not at the meeting.
