Citizen Still Needed to Fill Nashua City Council Seat – KCHA News | #citycouncil

The City of Nashua still needs to appoint someone to fill the open seat on the City Council.

In October, then-Mayor Alex Anthofer resigned citing family as his reason to leave office. Councilman Harold Kelleher was then elevated from Mayor Pro Tempore to “acting” Mayor.

After Kelleher won re-election to the City Council in November, he was officially appointed Mayor in December to serve out the remaining two years of Anthofer’s term. That also opened up his City Council seat.

Kelleher says they’d like to see more interest in the position, which comes with a lot of responsibility.

Kelleher says they also welcome someone willing to express their opinion.

The City Council meets this Monday (02.05) night and hopes to appoint someone to fill that seat and serve the remainder of Kelleher’s term, which runs until December 31, 2025.

Those interested must be at least 18-years-old, able to vote and be a citizen of Nashua. Contact City Hall for more information.
