Central Arkansas Development Council opening applications for Low-Income Home Energy Assis


The Central Arkansas Development Council will start taking applications for its Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

The website states that applications open on Jan. 8. The program aims to lower the energy burden by paying benefits for home energy bills.

You must provide the following when applying:

  • proof of income
  • The social security numbers of all household members including minors
  • Birthdates
  • Proof of Identification (Driver’s license, State issued ID, Military ID)
  • a copy of all household members 18 and over social security cards.
  • Copy of both electric and gas/propane bills. FINAL bills cannot be used. ( If the bill is final; you will need to include a current lease for your current residence and new account information.)

The council states that eligibility is based on two factors, 60% of the Arkansas Median Income and 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
