Carole Baskin’s big cats are moving to Arkansas

Carole Baskin from the show Tiger King was in Northwest Arkansas Saturday, raising money for Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs.Baskin said her cats will soon call Eureka Springs home.”Construction is starting on the Freedom Field where all the Big Cat Rescue cats will soon live,” Baskin said.41 animals from Baskin’s Big Cat Rescue Sanctuary in Tampa, Florida, will soon make the journey to Eureka Springs, according to Tanya Smith, the president of Turpentine Creek.”They’re financially gonna support the move for their big cats to come here, and there’s 41 animals total,” Smith said. “We’re building out the tiger habitats first, and then we’re come back and build out the small cat habitats. We want to go ahead and get the big cats moved here just as soon as possible.” Turpentine Creek is working on a 13-and-a-half-acre expansion with 40 habitats, half for big cats and half for small cats.Smith said they are hoping to get Carole Baskin’s big cats to Arkansas by July and the rest of the animals to the refuge by October.
