Biloxi City Council considers ordinance change that would charge RV lots | #citycouncil

The Biloxi City Council is still amending ordinances following the shooting that took place during Black Spring Break last year.

When this happened it began a conversation around how many people and what kind of special events the city can handle.

The council has decided to amend the Biloxi Land Development Ordinance as it pertains to recreational vehicle parks – RV’s – and other vehicles or equipment for special events.

A large part of the issue is the over-population of one area.

The council is considering charging a fee for each RV or lot, as well as establishing a maximum number of vehicles that can be on each parcel of land.

“Our goal is to make sure economic development, tourism, and these special events.. people walk away with a great, safe experience and they want to come back year after year,” said Biloxi Councilmen for Ward 6 Kenny Glavan. “and tell all their friends that Biloxi is a great place to come.”

The city council is still brainstorming ideas and has not officially amended the ordinance.
