Beckville City Council
The Beckville City Council will meet for a special meeting on Monday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. at Beckville City Hall, 211 Washington St. in Beckville.
Agenda
1. Call to order and roll call.
2. Citizen comments.
Texas Government Code Section 551.007 requires that a governmental body must allow each member of the public who desires to address the body regarding an item on an agenda the opportunity to do so before or during the body’s consideration of the item. The “Citizens Comments” portion of the meeting meets the requirements of this law and is the public’s opportunity to speak on any item on, or not on, the agenda. Those who wish to speak will have three (3) minutes to do so unless additional time has been requested.
3. Consider and approve the minutes from August 14, 2023.
4. Consider and approve the 2023-2024 budget.
5. Consider and approve the 2023 tax rate.
6. Convene into Executive Session:
A. ATTORNEY CONSULTATION/GOVT. CODE SECTION 551.071.
CONSULTATION WITH ATTORNEY REGARDING PENDING, THREATENED AND/OR CONTEMPLATED LITIGATION AND/OR MATTERS IN WHICH THE DUTY OF THE ATTORNEY TO THE GOVERNMENTAL BODY UNDER THE TEXAS DISCIPLINARY RULES OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT OF THE STATE BAR OF TEXAS CLEARLY CONFLICTS WITH CHAPTER 551 OF THE TEXAS GOVERNMENT CODE.
7. Convene into Open Session.
8. Consider old or new business for the September 11, 2023 meeting.
9. Adjourn
